Tangled: Character Bio Sergeant James Morris
Here is a short bio on my original character, Sergeant James Morris. Name: James Morris Birthplace: County Mayo, Ireland. Birth Date: August 1st. 1788. Age: 25. Rank: First Sergeant. Organization: C Troop, HM 3rd Regiment of Horse, Army of Corona. Height: 6', 1" Weight: 165 pounds. Hair: Blond. Worn short, and has a moustache Eyes: Blue. Background: Born in Ireland to a Catholic family, he was the 3rd son, and it was assumed that he would join the Clergy, and he was sent to school to prepare him for that future. When James was ten years old, the Irish rebellion of 1798 resulted in a major calamity for Ireland. James' father was wounded in the battle of Castlebar. With the collapse of the rebellion, many Irish citizens left the country rather than live under English rule. James' family wound up in Corona. James had little interest in becoming a Priest, and while he did well in his studies, he had a rebellious streak. He joined the Army in 1804 at the age of 16, and survived the

The Soldier's Story. Chapter One
*****************
A week after the attempted assassination of the Royal Family, the King summoned Eugene to his private office. He got right to the point.
“Eugene, I’ve been thinking about your role here in Corona. I admit that the appointment as honorary Colonel in Chief was just a sinecure to give you some level of status. But now that I know about your military service, I’d like to give you a real command.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“What would you say to a Captaincy, and command of a Troop of the Third Horse?”
“I think I co

I'm going to focus on Cassandra here. She is the only bit of the series that I've brought into my fan fiction. I decided to have her get together with my OC, First Sergeant Morris. Didn't like her very much at first, but as the series progressed, she's gotten a lot better.
If you have read the first chapter of my Tangled fan fiction, you will be aware that I refer to the Royal Guard of the movie and series as the “Civic Guard” because I see them more as police than soldiers. Since I have been unable to find any source in Disney canon for the Captain's name, I've decided to give him one myself. He'll be the focus of a piece I'm wo

Rapunzel's little brother...
Preface
A fast one shot. Rapunzel's parents lost much of themselves the night she was taken. But now that she's safely home again, many of those things are coming back to them.
Reawakening
It was the third night after Rapunzel’s return to Corona. The last two nights, the King and Queen had both gone to bed exhausted, but the second full day of celebrations had been less strenuous. The night had ended with a dinner party, and that party had included many toasts. The Royal Sommelier had brought forth an absolutely amazing mead, and the King had downed several glasses. The Queen had put away a fair bit herself. Normally, she only drank

Author's Note: Since the traditional Rapunzel story is of German origin, I consider German to be the actual language spoken by the characters. That is why the title of this, and some of my other pieces, are in German.

Rapunzel had expressed some curiosity about the equipment used by Eugene's Troopers, and her father had encouraged her to learn more about such matters as preparation for one day being Queen.

Tangled: History of the Third Horse
The Third Regiment of Horse was formed in 1630 and saw wide service during a very turbulent period of history. This included the Battle of Vienna in September of 1683, where they were part of the largest cavalry charge in history, riding among the 18000 led by Jan Sobieski.
One of the most important missions assigned to the regiment was to escort the Crown Princess to safety in Arendelle during an invasion of Corona. They were attacked by a superior enemy force, and it looked like the Princess might be captured. The Commander, Colonel Robert Bergmann, sent one Troop to guard the Princess, then led the remainder of the Regiment in a

I describe how I arrived at the time period for my fanfic in the introduction of Tangled: The Soldier's Story. Chapter One. Here, I am going to share some of my inspirations for the uniforms and equipment of the Coronan Army at the Battle of East Pass, and later, after Eugene has brought Rapunzel home.
I’ll start with the Cavalry, since that is Eugene’s branch of service.
Cavalry
I visualize the Coronan Cavalry looking very similar to the British Horse Guards. The Guards, or Household Cavalry wear scarlet tunics with polished steel cuirass, nickel plated steel helmet with a gold crest and blue horsehair plume.
